After a successful first and second edition, Kenya Airways is glad to announce that we will be participating in the second edition of The Aviation Challenge (TAC) 2024, previously ‘The Sustainable Flight Challenge (TSFC) by SkyTeam alliance.
The Aviation Challenge by SkyTeam was created to increase the speed of innovation in the form of embedded new practices in sustainability in the airline industry through knowledge sharing. SkyTeam members will be taking part in the Aviation Challenge this year by operating routes in the most sustainable way using creativity, partnership, and innovation.
The participating airlines will be judged across 3 categories and 18 subcategories by a panel of international and diverse judges from the sustainability and aviation sectors on how best they operate their flights sustainably.
The Aviation Challenge is helping Kenya Airways advance its sustainability journey.
Kenya Airways stakeholders are challenging themselves to drive positive impact in the economy, society, and environment through collaboration and open sharing of insights across the industry.
We are adopting promising ideas and scaling successful ideas across our operations. We are also boosting collaborations with our customers, suppliers and partners, to integrate sustainability into our business.
In 2022, Kenya Airways (KQ) In-Flight catering facility in collaboration with NAS Servair (NAS) won in the Best Partnership category and in 2023, KQ piloted the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Africa, that won the Most Breakthrough SAF category award.
